Runaway Star was a project with the team Midnight Bacon, a team of 7 QANTM students. I was the project lead on this project and we designed and developed a unique experience for the player. The game surrounds the idea of the planets trapped in an orbit around a star battling for control. We had three races and designed the game around a nostalgic experience. Everything in the game, someone can relate to. The game came with a full tutorial mode, video intro and dynamic shaders. These were some of the things we didn’t think were possible at the start of the project.

Set in the darkest corners of space, three interstellar civilizations battle to control the last remaining energy resource in the galaxy – Unstable stars. These races volley for control of these stars to eventually gain control of the remaining galaxy and wipe out their competitors.

Players will take control of one of the their races battlestation – a interstellar planetoid built for destruction. The must build solar collectors and combat buildings to battle it out with an opposing races battlestation. Turn your planet to manage power and launch your units to eliminate the enemy before they eliminate you!
